1. Describe in detail one of your family of origin’s traditions (e.g., holiday practices, etc.). How did the traditions originate and what function does it serve the family (or did it serve, past tense)?
2. Find a copy of any poem or song lyrics that deals with some of the issues related to marriage, family, or relationships (e.g., domestic violence/abuse, love, parenting, abortion, divorce or relationship break-up, death of a loved one, etc.). Include the author of the poem and a reference for the source. Explain how the poem connects to these issues.
3. Write a letter to yourself about your expectations related to marriage, children, and family. Where do these expectations come from? Hypothesize.
