This assignment expands on the discussion forum for this week. For each problem, write two questions that might be a good research question. These should not be Yes/No questions, but should have multiple possible answers. Often good questions begin with “how,” “what,” or “why.” Example:
1) Standardized testing
- How does “teaching to the test” prepare writing students for college?
- What, if any, are the good reasons to continue to use standardized testing in public education?
2) Second language learners
- In what ways does the writing of second language learners differ from the writing of first language speakers in college-level writing classes?
- How can teachers best help mainstream second language learners?
3) Implementing technology
- In what ways does the presence of technology in the classroom change the way we teach writing?
- How can students best use technology to improve their writing skills?
