Part 1

Identify a need (such as new equipment, expanding curriculum, change in procedures, and so forth) that you want to address through the instructional curriculum you will create for your class project. You also provided a rationale concerning why the problem or need exists, outlined a goal for the project, and proposed instructional strategies. Each week is a building block as we move through the stages for planning instructional design to address the identified need. The purpose of this assignment is to document the planning process. Use the Internet to locate information that you believe will assist you with your project.

Instructions

Write a 2–4 page paper in which you:

  • Develop a needs analysis for the identified need.
  • Determine the learner characteristics for the identified need.
  • Create a minimum of three instructional objectives. Write one objective from each of the following domains for the identified need: cognitive, behavioral, and affective.
  • Create a procedural analysis flowchart that visually depicts your project, using Excel, Visio, or one of their equivalents such as OpenOffice or Dia. In the flowchart, identify the starting points, decision steps, and ending points related to the learning task. Note: The graphically depicted solution is not included in the required page length. You may also find MS Office diagram templates useful, or you may search for free template downloads
  • Use your textbook, Internet, and/or the Strayer University Online Library to locate at least two reputable references (no more than ten years old). Appropriate academic resources include reputable websites, scholarly texts, and peer-reviewed articles. Wikipedia and other wikis do not qualify as academic resources.
  • Include charts or diagrams created in Excel, Visio, MS Project, a standard MS Office template, or one of their equivalents such as Open Project, Dia, and OpenOffice. The completed diagrams/charts must be imported into the Word document before the paper is submitted.

Part 2

In the Project Analysis and Instructional Objectives assignment, you developed the instructional objectives for your project. Building on this, you will create strategies that support the identified objectives and content. For this week’s assignment, you will develop instructional strategies, delivery strategies, and the learner-related sequence. Use the Internet and/or Strayer University Online Library to locate resources that focus on different types of delivery strategies.

Instructions

Write a 6–8 page paper in which you:

  • Outline the learner-related sequencing related to your design strategy, including the sequence, description, and related objective.
  • Determine three instructional learning strategies that clearly correlate with the learning objectives and instructional content created in the Project Analysis and Instructional Objectives assignment.
  • Determine three examples of instructional strategies that are appropriate based on the learner analysis.
  • Create an instructional message for the content. Specify the function, content structure, learner, and task attributes as they relate to your project.
  • Select two appropriate delivery strategies based on the instructional objectives. Provide a rationale for your selection.
  • Select two appropriate delivery strategies based on the instructional context. Provide a rationale for your selection.
  • Select two appropriate delivery strategies based on the instructional strategies. Provide a rationale for your selection.
  • Use your textbook, Internet, and/or the Strayer University Online Library to locate at least three reputable references (no more than ten years old). Note: Appropriate academic resources include reputable websites, scholarly texts, and peer-reviewed articles. Wikipedia and other wikis do not qualify as academic resources.

Part 3

The following are notes for assignment 3 instead of making a video so it’s important that you read this entire message and note the instructions I give below regarding this week’s written assignment. Do not complete the assignment without reading my instructions below. There will be no second chances with the assignment if I grade you down for not following my instructions below with this major assignment worth 260 points (pay close attention to all the highlighted areas below).

This final project must be between 15 -20 pages and will include all the following: If any of the items I listed below are missing from your paper the grade will suffer and there will be no retries for this assignment.

Compile the previous assignments and:

  1. Create a quarter-page (1/4) informative abstract for your final project.
  2. Revise your “Project Analysis and Instructional Objectives” Assignment, incorporating any feedback that you received.
  3. Revise your “Design Processes and Delivery Strategies” Assignment, incorporating any feedback that you received. (This means the feedback you received from the professor and your peers.)

Then you will write six – eight NEW pages in which you: (Everyone knows what NEW means)

  1. Create an evaluation plan that clearly correlates to the three (3) instructional objectives you developed in Assignment 1. Specify the measures that best fit each objective.
  2. Prepare a five- (5-) question test that correlates with the learning objectives from Assignment 1. Design the test so that it reflects multiple levels of Bloom’s Taxonomy.
  3. Determine the type of evaluation approach that is most appropriate for your project. Provide a rationale for your selection.
  4. Select a learning theory that applies to the instructional design of the project. Provide a rationale for your selection.
  5. Determine three (3) learning theory principles and specify how they apply to your project.
  6. Examine the information gaps that still exist within the project. Determine the information that would be necessary in order to complete the project more effectively. Provide a rationale for your response.
  7. Specify the next steps to complete the delivery of the instruction. Identify final preparations needed such as the location, resources, equipment, transportation, and food

Note: In this assignment, I expect to see all the level one headers from assignment one and two then the new level one header’s for assignment four to correspond for the assignment topic’s instructions.

The final project includes submissions from your prior assignments. The previous submissions must be revised based on instructor feedback and recommendations. Review the paper for flow and continuity.

Instructions

Compile the previous assignments and:

  1. Create a quarter-page informative abstract for your final project. This abstract does not count toward the final page count for the paper.
  2. Revise your project analysis.
  3. Revise your instructional and delivery strategies.

Write 6–8 pages in which you:

  1. Create an evaluation plan that clearly correlates to the three learning objectives you developed in the Project Analysis and Instructional Objectives assignment. Specify the measures that best fit each objective.
  2. Prepare a five-question test that correlates with the learning objectives from the Project Analysis and Instructional Objectives assignment. Design the test so that each question is from a different level of Bloom’s taxonomy.
  3. Determine the type of evaluation approach that is most appropriate for your project. Provide a rationale for your selection.
  4. Select a learning theory that applies to the instructional design of the project. Provide a rationale for your selection.
  5. Create three learning theory principles, not previously mentioned, and specify how they apply to your project.
  6. Examine the information gaps within the project. Determine the information that is necessary in order to complete the project more effectively. Provide a rationale for your response.
  7. Specify the next steps to complete the delivery of the instruction. Identify final preparations needed such as the location, resources, equipment, transportation, and food.

Use your textbook, Internet, and/or the Strayer University Online Library to locate at least three reputable references (no more than ten years old). Note: Appropriate academic resources include reputable websites, scholarly texts, and peer-reviewed articles. Wikipedia and other wikis do not qualify as academic resources.

The assignment will total 15–20 pages not including the cover, reference, and abstract pages.
